I couldn't very easily accept thank yous, as being the plural of the thank you, just as I generate p's and q's as opposed to ps and qs. it is somewhat rigid and old-fashioned. Without the need of it, as Amazing Elf notes, a clear-Lower notion seems much better style to me. Folks i
